Basson
Born in 1982, Antoine Pecqueur began studying the bassoon at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg before entering, at the age of 18, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, where he obtained his degree in 2004, as a student of Laurent Lefèvre. He then completed post-graduate studies at the Musikhoschule in Zurich with Pascal Gallois and after with Sergio Azzolini.
He plays regularly with many symphonic ensembles (Orchestre du Capitole du Toulouse, Orchestre Lamoureux, Opéra de Tours, Orchestre de Besançon, Nouvel Orchestre de Saint-Étienne, Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse…) and between 2003 and 2005 was the principal Contrabassoon player with the Orchestre de Limoges, playing also as a soloist in the concertos on W.A Mozart and Richard Strauss. |

Within the frame of the ‘Formation Supérieure’ for classical and romantic orchestral playing in Saintes, under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe, Antoine Pecqueur started to specialize in the interpretation of this repertoire on period instruments. He works regularly with many period instrument orchestras: La Chambre Philharmonique, l’Ensemble Matheus, Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Les Siècles, Anima Eterna…
He also puts great importance on the interpretation of contemporary music, playing with the Ensemble Linea, the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, and the Ensemble Lucilin. In 2003 he performed Jonglerie Sauvage by Nabil Benabdelgalil at the Rawafid Festival in Casablanca.
Antoine Pecqueur is also a key member of multiple chamber music groups: the Eole Duo (oboe and bassoon), the Col Legno Duo (cello and bassoon), Les Fagotins (baroque bassoon ensemble)…
Holding state diplomas for teaching of bassoon and period instruments, he was between 2003 and 2007, professor of bassoon and baroque bassoon at the Conservatoire de Chartres. |
