Brilliant concert by Linea in Huddersfield last week-end, performed by "excited but under control musicians who have rendered with a bright talent the rich and abounding complexity of Ferneyhough's score", stated our artistic director, Jean-Philippe Wurtz on his Facebook. More than 150 persons - and among them, numerous people from the music industry - attended to this brilliant UK premiere
of this powerful piece, written by the british composer who lives in America.
Huddersfield concert is closing a successful year in which Linea was deeply
engaged on the international scene, with particular focus on the english
speaking world of music, opened by a tour in the USA in june 2010.
This nice dynamic continues on the waves aswell : alongside France Musique
and DRS 2, which regularly covered Linea's activity and concerts, BBC Radio 3
will retransmit Huddersfield concert on saturday december 10th 2011, at 10:30 PM
GMT (11:30 PM CET) in its new music programme "Here and now". Here is the link to
listen from anywhere in the world.
After those several concerts abroad, we're back in our native region Alsace
for the last date of this rich 2011. We perform in Ingersheim (near Colmar) on
december 11th, an attractive programme blending works by Debussy, Janacek,
Webern, Sciarrino and Crumb, who were pioneers or actors of this movement from
so called "classical" to "contemporary" music.
An adventure in time and
space, piloted with sensitivity and commitment by Maiko Matsuoka (violin) and
Elmar Schrammel (piano).
