Viola
Jessica Rona was born in Miami, USA. She studied viola with Margaret Pardee (Juilliard School of Music, New York), Thomas Riebl (Mozarteum Salzburg), and Hatto Beyerle (Musikhochschule Hannover). In addition, she recieved a degree in the performance of contemporary music at the Hochschule in Hannover under the direction of Johannes Schöllhorn. She is currently completing a soloist degree at the Musichochschule Bern.
Jessica Rona has participated in many international music festivals, including the Ensemble Modern Academy in Schwaz, the Lucerne Festival Academy under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Impuls Festival Graz, and the World New Music Festival in Stuttgart. In 2004 she recieved a scholarship from the European Center for the Arts in Hellerau. She has worked with many contemporary composers, among others, Beat Furrer, Chaya Chernowin, Georg Friedrich Haas, and Rudolf Kelterborn. |

She is frequently involved in the performance and premieres of new
works, and is member of Ensemble Phoenix, Basel, Oh Ton Ensemble
Oldenburg and stock11.de. She performs frequenly as guest with
Musikfabrik NRW, Ensemble Aventure, Ensemble Sur Plus among other
ensembles for contemporary music. She joins Linea in 2008.
In 2008, Jessica Rona won a Scholarship Prize at the International
Summer Course for New Music in Darmstadt. She has also recieved prizes
from the ‚Patronatsgesselschaft’ Baden-Baden, Vienna International
Competition, and the Kings Young Artist Competition. She has performed
as a soloist and chamber musician at concert halls such as Carnegie
Hall NY, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, ORF Vienna, ZKM Karlsruhe.
