Violin
Sabine Akiko Ahrendt is born in Rüsselsheim Germany, studied in Berlin, Hannover, Budapest and Frankfurt. Currently she dedicates her performing work to new music, in ensembles, as soloist and in cross-disciplinary projects with choreography and video-art. Ahrendt gathered key experience through ensemble academies with Ensemble Recherche and at the International Ensemble Modern academy. During the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik 2006 she was awarded the Kranichsteiner prize.
In 2006 and 2007 Ahrendt received a scholarship at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. She has played at the festivals Champs Libres and Musica (Strasbourg), Ultraschall (Berlin), Klangspuren (Schwaz) and performs regularly with Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Resonanz and acts as performer with Nico and the Navigators (Berlin) and PET2. She is a member of the Neues Ensemble (Hannover) and of Ensemble Linea (Strasbourg) as well as founding member of Ensemble amokkoma and Trio Praesenz.
